Good things come in small packages

One of my favorite silhouettes to work on is a small chandelier -- they can make a smaller space very  special. This one is all about Rose Quartz and Jasper Agate!

Not your average chandelier

I was in desperate need of some kind of lighting over my dining room table. I had an old brass chandy frame and, as a jewelry designer I thought, why not make a chandelier in the fashion of a large piece of jewelry? I began to mix oversized gemstones like Amethyst with chunks of Turquoise and Amber into fixture and Voila! my business began.

Everyone who came to dinner remarked on the uniqueness of the piece and orders started coming in. I installed a dimmer to create some mood lighting and suddenly I had a conversation piece hanging from my ceiling!

Second Class Citizen

People ask me all the time, why chandeliers? And my answer: because they are beautiful little pieces of art found in unexpected places - they're the jewel in the room or yard. Table lamps, torchieres, sconces and chandeliers are home "accessories," like a good piece of jewelry. They light up and dress up your home.

Who doesn't love to see a string of bee lights wrapped around a tree like a diamond-by-the-foot necklace, or lighted lanterns strewn across a yard? It's a good feeling, right? And even though lighting is a sound marriage between form and function but it's usually the last item on the To Do home makeover list.

Right now my favorite thing is hanging chandeliers from crossbeams on a porch, deck or from a tree in the back. You can't imagine how instantly your yard goes from ordinary to extraordinary. Little jewels in the night. Try it, you might like it!
